Sixty-five feet below the surface of the ocean, young aquanaut Addie Lyons is finally ready for the moment she has spent months training for. During summer break, she has joined her marine biologist mother and marine engineer father to survey the aging shipwrecks off the U.S. Virgin Islands. Their mission: determine if those wrecks are a threat to the fragile coral reefs nearby.

She gives her SCUBA gear a final check, slips into the water beneath the undersea habitat she’ll call home for the next month, and carefully swims out for the first time. Hovering just above the seabed, she takes in the marine life and coral reef that surrounds her. This is where she belongs.

But before she can begin her work, she spots a young free-diver from the islands floating down from the surface, and he’s in trouble! So begins the harrowing incident that turns her family’s carefully planned survey mission into an adventure of discovery … and unexpected danger.
